Metronome self-serve checkout lets you move from a sandbox to a production environment without going through a manual sales process. You select a package, provide a payment method, and Metronome automatically provisions your production environment. Self-serve checkout supports:
  • Credit card setup for card-on-file billing via Stripe
  • Stripe Shared Payment Tokens for delegated purchases through agents and the Stripe CLI
  • Multiple package tiers so you can upgrade as you grow

Upgrading and downgrading

Upgrades

You can self-serve upgrade to a higher package tier at any time. When you upgrade:
  • The new package takes effect immediately.
  • You pay the platform fee for the new package.
  • Your remaining commit balance for billing and ingest events roll over. (note: commit balances do not roll over from the Startup plan, which is paygo with no platform fee.
To upgrade to a custom Enterprise package, reach out to sales@metronome.com.

Downgrades

Mid-term downgrades are not supported in the app. If you elect to downgrade, the change takes effect at the end of your current contract term. You’ll see a confirmation of the effective date when you initiate the downgrade.

Agent and CLI checkout

Metronome integrates with Stripe Projects and the Stripe CLI so that users and agents can provision Metronome without going through the UI:
  • Use a Stripe Shared Payment Token for delegated payment authorization.
  • Select from an approved subset of Metronome packages.
  • Metronome provisions the production environment and returns environment details on success.
A full audit trail is recorded for all delegated purchases.
